PET FRIENDLY MENDOCINO, OUR PERFECT WEEKEND ITINERARY

My husband and I recently went to Mendocino for the weekend with our fur son, Teddy. It ended up being one of the best weekends we’ve had in years and the fact that it is was so pet friendly and close to home was the icing on the cake!

I’m excited to share our itinerary with you, so you don’t have to figure out the logistics of navigating the town with your fur baby. Let me add that it’s a GREAT itinerary! 🫶🏽

Accommodations:

I can only recommend the 3 I have had experiences with in this area, two of the three are pet friendly. The last one on this list I visited on a previous roadtrip with my dad and daughter and I will add it as a bonus option but this is the one that is not pet friendly.

The Stanford Inn - A beautiful “destination resort” overlooking Mendocino bay and surrounded by nature and a historic garden.

Noyo Harbor Inn Restaurant & Tavern - A historic Inn set above the riverbank with sweeping views of the forest and sounded by beautiful gardens.

Ocean View Lodge - A quaint ocean front property located just steps from the beach. Each room with oversized windows, leading to sweeping ocean views.

Dining:

As you may know, I am vegan, so I am always looking for restaurants with vegan friendly options. Every single restaurant below was either 100% vegan or had vegan dining options. There are many others as well but I can only vouch for the ones I visited.

  • The Goodlife Cafe & Bakery - Vegan options

  • The Stanford Inn by the Sea - 100% vegan

  • Harborview Bistro & Bar - Vegan options

Activities:

Of course the hiking trails are endless in this area and a couple of fur baby friendly trails are Mendocino Cliffs Trail (0.9 miles) and Big River Trail (16 miles, but you can make it shorter by not going all the way to the end. Just turn around sooner.) but another super fun and unique experience you can take your fur baby on is a kayak or hawaiian outrigger canoe ride! Don’t skip this opportunity!

I also created a full reel of this experience with our fur son Teddy, you can view it —-> HERE.

Another thing you can do is explore the town and all of its super cute shops. It’s super cute and your fur babies are allowed inside the stores for shopping (or window shopping).

I hope you found this post helpful. If you did, be sure to share my blog with your friends and family and come back often for more tips and recommendations. :)
