What is pet acupressure/massage and why might we need it?

What is acupressure? Acupressure is a a traditional Eastern Medicine practice that involves applying pressure to acupuncture points, instead of inserting a needle into the skin. This less invasive technique is preferred for locations that are hard to reach with needles, or for animals that may not tolerate the needles. The application of gentle pressure on certain parts of the body results in the release of specific hormones into the bloodstream, which can be a great way for your pets to relax, relieve anxiety, and can even lead to pain reduction in areas of chronic pain by increasing blood flow. It can also help with many common side effects of chemotherapy, such as pain and headaches. Pet massage therapy is a great tool to keep animals fit and many techniques can help prevent injury. Massage also helps with anxiety and arthritis, stimulates circulation, increases blood supply to joints/muscles, and alleviates discomfort.

Benefits? Acupuncture comes to the rescue by stimulating the release of endorphins, the body's natural pain-relievers. Acupressure and massage improve blood flow, which increases oxygen delivery to the tissues and removes waste products more efficiently. Canine massage therapy softens and refreshes strained or sore muscles through the rhythmical application of manual therapy and pressure, helping a pet to relax and become more mobile.

Dog Walking Services

I am available for 30-60 minute walks in select Mariposa and Merced County communities. Please reach out to see if I service your area. All breeds and sizes are welcome.

Drop-In Visits

I am available to stop by your home in select Mariposa and Merced county communities, to do just about anything for your fur baby! Whether you need me to feed/water them, play with them, let them out to go potty, give medication(s), clean litter boxes, turn lights on/off, perform basic grooming (brushing, cleaning wrinkles, etc), open or close doors/windows/curtains/etc, snuggle with them or just pop in to check on them. I am your gal!

Pet Photography Sessions

To capture emotion and the personality in a pet photoshoot, you HAVE to have someone that absolutely LOVES and understands animals. There is so much more to ipet photography than just pointing and shooting. These photoshoots create special keepsakes and capture our furry, feathery and scaly family members, beyond their short time on earth with us. NOTES:

* If I will be working with your pet(s) in person, I will need proof of vaccination or antibody titer results if you are on a less rigorous vaccination schedule.

+ If I feel that our virtual consultation is not sufficient, I will schedule a follow up appointment with you and your pet in person, with no additional booking fee.

* All waivers and documents must be submitted to me via email, postal services or in person prior to our first walk/visit/session/appointment/house call. If they are not, the service will not take place and you will not be refunded for that date of service.

* Unused sessions/appointments of ANY kind expire 3 months from the date of purchase. Thank you for understanding.

* I am not a certified dog/cat trainer. Although I have some experience training my own animals, that is not the service I am being hired for. If your dog or cat has aggression or reactivity issues, I recommend you work with a qualified trainer beforehand, to ensure the safety of everyone (human & animal).
